Scott Calton was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina where he graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School in May of 1999. After graduating from high school, Scott attended college at North Carolina State University (NCSU) where he studied Civil Engineering. During the first two years of attending NCSU, he realized civil engineering was not the path for his life. Having the desire to graduate from college, he made a change and enrolled at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was here where he discovered what land surveying entailed. After graduating in 2006 with an Associate’s degree in Land Surveying Technology, his new career path began. Over the next few years, he relocated from North Carolina to Pennsylvania where he worked to become a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. In 2013 his desire to become a licensed professional happened in the state of West Virginia. After that he became licensed in Pennsylvania and New York in 2018 and followed that with becoming licensed in Texas in 2021. During the period of time from 2006 to 2022 he worked at several engineering firms and worked with many professional surveyors to gain the required experience to become eligible to take the exams required for licensing. In 2023 he made the decision to go into business for himself as the owner-operator of Calton Land Surveying Services. It is his desire to provide a professional service while providing personal customer service for many years to come.
